Platinum Painting was honoured to restore the heritage-listed Fortune of War, Sydney’s oldest pub, originally built in 1828. This meticulous project required strict adherence to tight timelines, night work, and council restrictions due to heavy public foot traffic in the CBD. Working alongside the National Heritage Trust, we carefully restored the exterior to its original Federation style, replacing the roof with new shingles, refurbishing metalwork and windows, replacing gutters and downpipes, and cleaning the sandstone façade to preserve its historic charm. This restoration ensures the Fortune of War continues to stand as a Sydney landmark for generations to come.
