Platinum Painting was honoured to restore the heritage-listed Fortune of War, Sydney’s oldest pub, originally built in 1828. This meticulous project required strict adherence to tight timelines, night work, and council restrictions due to heavy public foot traffic in the CBD. Working alongside the National Heritage Trust, we carefully restored the exterior to its original Federation style, replacing the roof with new shingles, refurbishing metalwork and windows, replacing gutters and downpipes, and cleaning the sandstone façade to preserve its historic charm. This restoration ensures the Fortune of War continues to stand as a Sydney landmark for generations to come.
Platinum Painting proudly contributed to the transformation of the Engadine Tavern, nestled in the charming, bush-draped suburb of Engadine. Collaborating closely with multiple trades, we successfully completed the project within a tight three-week window, ensuring the venue was ready to welcome guests just in time for Christmas.
Despite facing a major colour change halfway through the job, our team adapted seamlessly, maintaining both quality and timeline. The result is a fresh, vibrant space that complements Engadine’s friendly, country charm—perfectly positioned near the National Park, just 15 minutes from the beaches, 30 minutes to Wollongong, and 35 minutes to Sydney CBD.
